C21H30O2

Yesterday marks the day of yet another important day. I had breakfast with a surro friend, we had blood work done -to check hormone levels. (Everything looked great).

I then had another ultrasound appointment with Dr. A. Endometrial lining looks perfect, nice and fluffy. Next step was talking about the next medicine I will be taking, ready for the embryo transfer on Saturday! ONLY 4 DAYS AWAY - starting to feel the pressure now, but in a good way. I'm very excited.

My endometrial lining looking perfect.

Progesterone oil and needle (on top of my journal).
First, and most important is the big ol' progesterone!! (Wondering about my title? Formula for progesterone). This is to make my endometrial lining extra puffy so my oven will except those lovely little embryos. Starting off with 50mg, going up to 75mg (these are everyday). My poor behind! My first injection of progesterone went very well thanks to a good friend of mine. Ice first, injection, then massage and heat. (lil sore today, but not as bad as anticipated).
Estrogen injection and patches continue and usual. Next is Prednisone, this is a steroid to suppress my immune system to allow my body to accept the embryos as my own (and not fight them off). I have to take 3 5mg pills right before bed, this is only for the 4 days prior to the transfer. I also have to take Doxycycline (antibiotic), just in case an infection occurs. I take one in the morning and one at night (also for 4 days prior to transfer.Yesterday's went perfectly fine, but this morning I took it on an empty stomach NOT A GOOD IDEA, I was so nauseous and sick. Don't do that fellow surro's.

My new schedule since progesterone has been introduced.

I have to have more blood work done on Friday to check my hormone levels one more time before the transfer. The count down is going so fast.

I skyped with Laura and David today and we talked about yesterdays appointment and the plan for the next few days. I told them Dr. A was allowing my husband to video the transfer so they were able to feel a part of it as well. They were very excited about that. They also got to meet my mom. We talked about how excited, nervous and all these other emotions that we all have. I can't believe how fast this has come. Now I have to plan what to do for 3 days on bed rest!!  STAY TUNED

7 Jours ( 7 days)

On Monday I had an ultrasound to check my endometrial lining and ovaries. To make sure they were the right sizes according to where I am in the cycle. I also had blood work done to determine my hormone levels and to decide if I am to stay on the same dosage of medicine, which I am - a good thing. Just means I am right at where they want me to be.

Tuesday - I had a Skype date with my IPs. I love talking to them and seeing them (even if it is through a computer screen). We talked about how close the embryo transfer was getting and how they are very nervous and stressed, mainly because they want everything to run smoothly. I hope things run smoothly as well, but I have positive and sticky thoughts.

Wednesday & Thursday - I was running around getting a few last minute things before going on bed rest for 3 days following the transfer. Including a bed rest pillow, getting new bedding (haha) comfy clothes, maternity clothes (not needed, but what's the point in buying regular summer clothes if I'm gonna get pregnant). Lol

Now it's Saturday, and it's 7 days till transfer time. On Monday, I get to have another ultrasound and blood work to check my hormone levels are headed in the right direction (hopefully get a time for transfer as well). I can't believe it's only 7 days away. I've already been planning the movies and tv shows I am going to watch during my bed rest. Yay!!!

Hormone update

This week has been fun. On Monday I turned into a crazy woman. After not having any hormones in my body for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden I am swamped with estrogen, let's just say my body must have gone into shock and I turned into super bitch! I was so irritable and I'm really sorry to those who may have come into contact with me. Anyway, Tuesday I changed my patches and my mother gave me the second dosage of estrogen injection, I had a lot of cramping which made me wanna curl up in a ball this continued until Wednesday night.  My friend gave me the third dosage of estrogen (injection) tonight and so far so good, my body seems to be finally finding it's pace and levels. Who knows how long this will last. But what I do know is; it will be completely worth it when I see Laura and David holding their precious baby/babies in their arms and seeing them lay eyes on their child/children for the first time, what a picture perfect moment that will be. Every time I catch myself whining or I think I am in pain, I go directly to that moment (of the birth) and know that everything couldn't be more perfect.

Surrogacy meeting..Easter

I love surrogate meeting days, it's where all the surrogates can get together and talk about their journey's. We have one every month and I really enjoy going. This month we had a family meeting where we all got together at a park with our families to celebrate easter. There was crafts for the kids, and easter egg hunt, face painting and the easter bunny came to take pictures with all the families.

Our kids and the other surrogates kids had a great day. We ate food, had dessert, played games, the kids ran around while us ladies talked about having babies. Nothing could be better. Such a great day as always. I always look forward to our monthly support group. I love my fellow surro's.

Estrogen Injection

First Estrogen intramuscular injection today. Luckily, I have lots of nurses surrounding me which can help me out during this because my husband does NOT like needles and is not willing to hurt me (even tho after icing the area for 5 mins, I really didn't feel a thing).  My friend Judy was nice enough to come over after work to give me my shot today, I didn't feel a thing (thank you ice).

To give these injections you place an 18 gauge needle on the syringe and draw the oil from a glass container, then replace the syringe with a 22 gauge needle (lower the number, the bigger and thicker the needle) and give in the upper and outer quadrant of the butt area. As I progress to each medication, it becomes more real, so happy that I have the perfect IP's.

These are my prenatal's and baby aspirin I have to take everyday. I am also still taking Lupron injections everyday but I now take half the dosage.
This is the syringe and needles.
Hard to tell from the picture, but here is the size differences. Pink = Pain (18 gauge) bigger
Grey - 22 gauge, Still a pretty big needle

Estrogen Patches

Today is the first day of Estrogen Patches, little patches that are placed on the bikini line. 0.1mg in each patch and I have to place 2 and I have to replace them every other day until I am 10 weeks pregnant.

Here is a picture of the placement of the Estrogen patches and the type of Estrogen Patches I am using.

This is what my calendar looks like up until the embryo transfer.
