Beta, Round 2

Monday bagel day with the girls and kids. I then went for more blood work to make sure my HCG levels are rising.
I got a call from the Dr's office and my levels are now 3425. They have definitely quadrupled and some. So Laura and David are definitely expecting - so excited for them. I also scheduled my ultrasound appt for June 9th, this appointment we will see how many babies I am carrying for Laura and David. I Can't wait, wish it could come sooner. I will then be 8 weeks pregnant with either 1 or 2 little ones. What do you think???

Betas.

Yesterday I got my blood drawn early, to get results for the afternoon.
I got a phone call from Dr A in the afternoon to tell me that my beta results looked great and that I had levels of 801. Awesome results!! Typically anything over 500 "could" mean twins (or I'm very hormonal). I have more betas on Monday, to make sure my levels are doubling. In 2 and half weeks is when I get to have an ultrasound to see if Laura and David are going to have 1 or 2 babies!!!
So excited.

It started with a petri dish....

Today is Mother's Day here in the US. The last few days I have been feeling pregnant, I have been having great thoughts and some pregnancy symptoms here and there (which could also been the medicine). So yesterday I was texting with Laura and telling her about my symptoms and asked if she would like to Skype and do a pregnancy test via Skype. At first she was a little nervous and scared, but I ensured her that I wouldn't insist if I didn't feel the way I did. Ya know, this isn't my first rodeo!

Our Skype session was scheduled for 10am, I was drinking plenty of water this morning to make sure I could actually pee on the stick when it came time to do so. I showed Laura and David the box, I opened the test and went and did my thing. I RAN out of the bathroom seeing the 2 pink lines on the test. I shoved the test into the computer camera and yelled "IT SAYS YEEEEEESSSSSS". Seeing the look on Laura and Davids face made me so proud. Laura buried her face into her hands with happiness and she told me I was their warrior. I'm sooooo happy that I have met their expectations and that I can finally say I am carrying their child/ren.

Skyping and sharing the GREAT NEWS -
We were all thrilled with the great news, but still being optimistic since my beta's (blood test) aren't until Thursday morning. That is when we will get the REAL confirmation. I will also receive 1 more beta test a few days later, then a week after that (hopefully) get an ultrasound to see how many nuggets I will be carrying. Exciting times.
IT SAYS YEEEEESSSS!!!!!

For Mother's Day my hubby got me some great gifts (including a t-shirt shown in the pic below) and a card that made me tear up a little bit, from the little embryo's implanting in my tummy (potentially both of them).

Happy Mother's Day to Laura and I. Great day for great news.

A little message for Laura and David...
Thank you so much for including me to help create your little family. I am so happy to be apart of this amazing journey. I couldn't be happier and nothing is better than seeing your faces light up every time I talk with you. I always look forward to our Skype dates and I always love the pictures that you send me and telling me how your day is going. This is the start of a great journey and friendship and I can't wait to see your faces when you hold the baby/ies for the first time. Every time I think about this moment it makes me extremely happy. You guys are the best IP's a girl could ask for.

Transfer day

Woke up this morning really excited and anxious for the transfer.
Once we got to the doctors office we Skyped with Laura and David while we were in the car. They put me at ease, as soon as I spoke to them I immediately felt better.
Inside the office, I signed my paperwork, and was asked to make my bladder nice an full. I was then asked to put on a gown, slippers and a hair net.
Good look, right?

Then I was asked to take 2 Valium to make sure I was nice a relaxed for the transfer. I was then put into a hospital bed for the medicine to kick in and to allow myself to relax.
Getting nice and comfortable
Before I knew it Dr A came to talk to me to see how I was feeling and to let me know they were still putting 2 embryos on. 1 boy and 1 girl. I then went into the procedure room, Martin was able to join me. An ultrasound was done to check my bladder was full so the procedure could be done viewed through the ultrasound screen. (A ful bladder pushes the uterus up).
There's the little embryos (One boy and one girl)

Here I am, right after the transfer, with a big smile on my face

The transfer went great, I have strong positive thoughts and a great support system to help me through it.
I was wheel chaired out to the car and we drove home so I could go and Skype Laura and David and tell them all about it.
Martin also video taped the transfer so we can email it to them. Now I'm on strict bed rest for 3 days. No using my abdominal muscles. Martin has been assisting me all day. I'm so blessed to have such a supportive husband! Love you babe xxx

1 more sleep

We woke up in Vegas this morning. We woke up at 5am to be able to get back to the lab on time for my blood work. We made it in great time.
We all Skyped with Laura and David too, we went through all the details and times of the transfer. They are so excited!

My mom is having the boys tonight so that I can wake up early in the morning and get ready. I have so many emotions that I can not explain them all. I have excitement, little nervousness, anxious. All great feelings!
I just hope that I live up to Laura and David's expectations. (Sorry for being all over the place, I'm just really excited for the day to be here).

I can't believe tomorrow is the day. When I wake up in the morning it will be "transfer day".

2 days to go.

Martin and I decided to take a last minute Vegas trip to visit family friends who are visiting from England. We took the boys with us and on the way we had to stop to do my progesterone injection.
My friend had given me a good solution for numbing my butt - using a cold soda can. We stopped at Baker (1hr and half to go) at a gas station and used a cold soda can to numb the area.
Here is me using the soda can to numb. Haha

Well we certainly had a few looks for doing this in a parking lot, but the injection had to be administered in a timely manner and we had the children with us. We gotta do, what we gotta do.  The things us surrogates do to ensure a successful pregnancy. We wouldn't have it any other way.
Here is Martin stabbing me. Lol

We had a fabulous time in Vegas with our friends and we have to get up early in the morning to get home for my blood work.
2 MORE DAYS TILL TRANSFER>>>> CANT WAIT
